My Switch Game Collection

Games that I played on Nintendo Switch were all in the JRPG genre. I love physical copies because it gives a sense of ownership—fully owning them. The printed cover art, and cartridges are part of the gaming experience.
I never liked digital copies. I’d prefer to buy video games, CDs, Blu-ray discs in physical format. I’ll buy physical ones over digital whenever possible. I have to “touch” it and “feel” it. If I bought a copy, then I’ll keep it like the most sacred and precious treasure that a kid ever had.
Those RPG games that I played were the best ones on Switch. I love every one of them. Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is my all-time favourite. When the game was originally released on PS2, I didn’t have the chance to play it. Years later, I purchased the game on PS4 and Switch. I played for more than 100 hours for each version.
I own more games than shown in the photo. The happiness and enjoyment worth more than money. I’ve to admit I simply don’t have the time to complete every game I bought. But I played most of them at least for 20 hours or so. Hopefully, someday I can enjoy them once again.
Collecting video games, music CDs, Blu-ray discs is one of my hobbies. The good thing about physical copy is that you can resell them on the second-hand market if you turn out didn’t like them. To me, that’s not only can save some money but it’s about recycling.
I don’t play online games. If the game requires an internet connection all time, I’ll probably skip purchasing entirely. I can accept games with online features. In my opinion, it shouldn’t require you to be always online. The game should provide an option to allow players to decide whether to play it online or offline.
But of course, nowadays there’s a thing called Day 1 Patch. Publisher tends to ship the game even before the game development was finished. But after the update, 90% of the time I went offline playing.
The last thing I want to say is that I’m still taking shitty photos. I think I probably should look for some lightning accessories for shooting on iPhone.
See you next time.

Footnotes
- I do own a few Collector’s Edition / Deluxe Edition of games like Octopath Traveler, Persona 5 Royal. They worth every penny. ↩︎
- After upgrading from 2010 MBP to 2020 M1, which obviously doesn’t have a DVD-Rom equipped anymore. I’m not able to play’em but to treat them as collectible items. ↩︎
- All of my Blu-ray collection are movies. I sold quite a lot of them over the years. ↩︎
