Year’s end, new beginnings
2022 Year in review
Christmas is coming, and it’s near the end of 2022. I've been running this blog for almost a year now. So, it’s time to do some recapping. I’ll keep it short and make this quick.
Blogging
In 2022, I’ve written more than a hundred posts. Those blog posts maybe somewhat worthless to anyone other than myself. But, you know, I do enjoy the process of writing them. Every time I’ve written a post, it feels like I've relieved my burden for a bit. I’ll continue to blog in the coming years.
To be honest, I never thought I’d be able to write so many blog posts. I can’t imagine how that might be possible. I also participate in the #100DaysToOffload challenge. But guess what? It looks like I can make it. Here are a few posts that I personally like. Not that they’re good, but I like how they turned out.

My primary focus is to write and publish on this blog. Blogging is a very cool thing to do. I’ll continue to blog as long as I could.
Movies
I’m glad that I managed to watch a few movies in the cinema. I can tell you it’s a completely different experience than watching them at home. When I was creating the list below, I figured I was being a bit too generous on the ratings. I might want to comment on them at a more personal level.

There were films that I haven‘t watched or that weren’t available in my area. I’m looking forward to the horror trilogy X, Pearl, and MaXXXine.
Gaming
To no surprise, I’ve played RPGs exclusively. I completed three games this year, and I enjoyed each one of them. I’m considering writing a review for Trails in the Dark 黎の軌跡.
I’m not sure if I’ll have time to play those games as frequently as I do now. But I still want to collect those games if they have a physical release.
Title | Platform | Played Time (hrs) |
---|---|---|
Trails in the Dark 黎の軌跡 | PS4 | 100+ |
Eastward | Switch | 5+ (Not completed yet) |
Xenoblade 3 | Switch | 130+ |
Pokémon Legends: Arceus | Switch | 40+ |
Square Enix announced Final Fantasy I - VI Pixel Remaster will be released on Switch next year. Apparently, I wasn’t fast enough to pre-order the physical edition. But I don’t want myself trapped by the urge to buy things because of the hype. I figured I wasn’t really that attached to the games except for Final Fantasy VI. Speaking of remakes, Golden Sun and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on the GBA would be my first choices.
In the next year, I hope I can pick up some games that I haven’t finished. Such as Eastward, Tales of Vesperia, Octopath Traveler and Shin Megami Tensei V.
Books
I’ve only read two books in the English language. I can tell you that it’s kind of hard for me to focus myself on reading in a second language for more than an hour. I revisited The Witcher Saga this year.
Title | Ratings |
---|---|
Blood of Elves | 3/5 |
The Last Wish | 4/5 |
I don’t think I’ll invest much time in books other than fantasy novels. As you can tell, I’m a very slow reader. It took several readings to fully comprehend the plots. I hope as I continue to read, I’ll get better over time.
Walking
For three years, I managed to walk over 10K steps a day. But in 2022, things changed. I walked much less than before. Also, I’ve lost a chunk of data in the Health app on my iPhone. The whole year of data from January 2021 to March 2022 is gone. I don’t have the slightest clue why. Apparently, I do have iCloud’s backup enabled. I’m not disappointed that I walked less than in previous years. Because what’s the big deal if I don’t?
Hobbies
I’ve been collecting art books from films and video games for quite a long time. Unfortunately, I’ve only managed to buy a few of them. It’s a shame. A few years ago, some local bookstores that I frequently visited were closed. I have stopped buying books since then. But I don’t like buying books online. I prefer to visit the shop and read them in person. It’s better to decide whether to buy it after flipping through the book. So, I’m now on the search for book dealers that I can trust and order art books from.
I’ll also save up on a budget for collecting older movies and Anime films that I like. I don’t plan to make bulk purchases; instead, I’ll buy one blu-ray at a time.
Another hobby that I didn’t mention is collecting Transformers toys. I almost collected half the product line of War for Cybertron: Siege. I’m super proud of that. I’m now thinking I should get some lightning equipment to take photos of them.
Wrapping Up
I don’t intend to be dramatic, but this will be the last post on fury.hk. If you happen to be subscribed to my broken RSS, this will also be the last entry. I wish to delete all the content on this site by the end of this year.
This is not the end of this blog. But a new start. I got a feeling that I wanted to move to a new place. I’m too lazy to do URL redirects or anything like that. If you’re reading my RSS, I bet you know where to look for me. So, see you around.
I wish anyone reading this, or not, a happy new year. Stay healthy. Keep blogging.
This is #Day88 of #100DaysToOffload.
